Bradley St Bicycle Co-op is a non-profit whose mission is to create a more equitable New Haven by getting more people on bikes. While we can and do donate bicycles to folks who need access to transportation in New Haven, there is a little more to it:
What else do you need to know about us?
- We are primarily self-funded through proceeds from our bike recycling program and used bike shop.
- Staff and volunteers repair hundreds of bikes a year so we have enough to sell to used-bike customers and donate to our institutional partners IRIS (Integrated Refugee and Immigrant Services) and CMCH (CT Mental Health Center) who distribute bikes to their clients.
- We are working to increase our donation capacity, but there is a limit to the number of individual donation requests we can accommodate every month.
Bicycle Request Form
If you would like to request a bike for yourself or someone else please follow the following link and fill out the form.
BSBC Bike Request Form
Are you in a position to contribute?
- $10 covers a very basic bike lock
- $60 covers a better lock, a helmet and front/rear bike lights
- $100 covers lock/lights/helmet + about 1/2 the labor costs of repairing the bike to safe, working order.
- $300 covers the retail value of the bike + lock/lights/helmet
Due to the large volume of requests we are receiving please expect 6-8 weeks for your request to be fulfilled.
The Bradley Street Bicycle Co-op is a safe space.
All people are expected to treat everyone in the BSBC community—regardless of their race, religion, national origin, ethnicity, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or age—with respect, and without judgment or bias.
